The End Time Prophet

Page 2

The Mighty and Strong One - Isaiah 28:2

“Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one,

Like a tempest of hail and a destroying storm,

Like a flood of mighty waters overflowing,

Who will bring them down to the earth with his hand.”

This end time prophet is the Lord’s mighty and strong one.  He will bring down the people to the earth with his hand.  He will humble them so that they come trembling to the Lord.  The power in the way he’ll preach and the power of his works will come down on the people like a tempest of hail and a destroying storm.  They will be carried away by it like a flood of mighty waters.  Now some have mistaken this prophecy for Assyria when they destroyed Israel and carried them away captive.  But let us now examine the whole text.

Isa 28:1-2

Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim,

Whose glorious beauty is a fading flower

Which is at the head of the verdant valleys,

To those who are overcome with wine!

Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one,

Like a tempest of hail and a destroying storm,

Like a flood of mighty waters overflowing,

Who will bring them down to the earth with His hand.

A couple of questions we will eventually need to ask are, “Who is Ephraim?”  And “Why did God create thirteen tribes in Israel but will only ever recognize twelve?”

Isa 28:3-6

The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim,

Will be trampled underfoot;

And the glorious beauty is a fading flower

Which is at the head of the verdant valley,

Like the first fruit before the summer,

Which an observer sees;

He eats it up while it is still in his hand.

In that day the LORD of hosts will be

For a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty

To the remnant of His people,

For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment,

And for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

The final fulfillment of this verse could not possibly be the Assyrian invasion.  For how was the Lord “a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people” when the Assyrians invaded, butchered the people, and carried them away captive?  How could such an event give “a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment” and give “strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate?”  The people were completely broken.  That was not the final fulfillment.  The final fulfillment of this scripture will be in the days of the end time prophet.  When the people see the Lord’s “mighty and strong one” appear they will receive strength and courage to turn back the battle at the gate.  The battle is currently at the gate.  Much of the church is in apostasy.  If the righteous do not hold up the battle, the church will fall into all kinds of perversion.  Prophecies sometimes have a dual fulfillment.  The final fulfillment often comes later.

Hos 11:1

And out of Egypt I called My son.

The children of Israel came out of Egypt, but the final fulfillment was in Jesus.  Also notice, “My son,” son is singular and points to a future fulfillment.

Matt 2:14-15

When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”

The mighty and strong one was a reference to Assyria in the days of Isaiah.  However, its true and final fulfillment is to come.  The mighty and strong one, which is singular, speaks of a man who is to come.  When this prophet appears it will be fulfilled, “In that day the Lord of hosts will be for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people.”

"In that day" when the mighty and strong one appears.

The Seventh Church Messenger - Revelation 3:14

“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God.”

Angels have no need to be written to by an earthly man.  The word angel (aggelos) can also be translated messenger.

Matt 11:10

For this is he of whom it is written:

‘Behold, I send My messenger (aggelos) before Your face,

Who will prepare Your way before You.’

angel, messenger = aggelos

ἄγγελος

Strong’s G32

The church went through seven transitions.  And during each transition there was a church messenger (angel).

This last church messenger will be the Lord’s mighty prophet.  He will come at the end of the Church age to prepare them for the rapture.  He will not come to reform the church and begin a new church age as with previous reformers.  He will come as a prophet to close the show that the church may depart in its grand finale!

The Rider on the White Horse - Revelation 6:1-2

"Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.”

And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer."

As we noted above, he comes at the end of the church age.  The opening of the first seal begins end time events.  The opening of all seven seals begins the great tribulation.

When the time has come to begin closing the church, the midnight messenger will be dispatched to ride out and warn the virgins.  That messenger called, “Elijah the prophet,” must then go out “conquering and to conquer” to close the show and deliver the final witness before the great and dreadful day of the Lord.  He will gather up the remnant and make the bride of Christ beautiful.  He will restore all things that she (the church) may be presentable as a wife who has made herself ready for the marriage of the Lamb.  As it is written:

Rev 19:7

“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

Be certain, he is coming, just as Elijah appeared, he will also appear from nowhere.  As John the Baptist suddenly appeared to prepare the way of the Lord, he will also suddenly appear.  John “was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel” (Luk 1:80).  Likewise, he will manifest himself when the Lord takes the scroll and opens that first seal.

The Majestic Rider - Psalm 45:3-5

"Gird Your sword upon your thigh, O Mighty One,

With your glory and your majesty.

And in your majesty ride prosperously because of truth, humility, and righteousness;

And your right hand shall teach you awesome things.

Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the King’s enemies;

The peoples fall under you."

This majestic rider rides victoriously for the King (Jesus).  He is the rider on the white horse who wields a bow.  Immediately after his victorious conquest the great tribulation comes and then the LORD returns to setup his kingdom.  His arrows are sharp in the heart of the King's enemies.  The peoples fall under him as he paves the way for the Lord's second coming.

Psalm 45:5

"Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the King’s enemies;

The peoples fall under you."

Notice the next verse very carefully.  After his prosperous conquest the Lord's throne is spoken of as being forever and ever because Christ comes to setup His kingdom after this forerunner has done his job.

Psalm 45:6

"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;

A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom."

The Anointed Prince - Daniel 9:25

"Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks." (ESV)

He is the anointed prince who is coming after the 7 weeks (49 years) from the time the Jews entered Jerusalem on June 7, 1967.  Read about Daniel's prophecy below.
